About Cash For Life in Indiana
The Hoosier Lottery joined Cash for Life in September 2016, two years after the game launched in New Jersey and New York. Revenue from ticket sales helps to benefit good causes throughout the state, such as the Build Indiana Fund and Teachers’ Retirement Fund. Indiana has not had the number of big wins that other states have enjoyed, but there are still lots of prizes paid out in every draw.
How to play Cash For Life in Indiana
The rules for how to play are the same everywhere – in Indiana, you also have the option to build a digital myPlayslip on the Hoosier Lottery app. You can enter as many as 10 consecutive draws, and must make sure to buy your tickets before the cut-off time of 8:45 PM ET.
Claiming prizes in Indiana

There are also prize payment centers in Indianapolis, Mishawaka and Evansville, but if you win $50,000 or more you must contact the Hoosier Lottery at 1-800-955-6886 to make an appointment. The claim period is 180 days.
Procedure for Lost and Damaged Tickets
The Hoosier Lottery is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets so you should not expect to be paid out if you are not in possession of your ticket. It may be possible to get a prize with a damaged ticket, but there are a number of validation requirements that must be met first.
Taxes due on prizes in Indiana
Any winnings over $1,200 are subject to state tax at a rate of 3.05 percent, while prizes over $5,000 are taxed at a federal level at 24 percent. You should keep the W-2G form attached to your winner’s checks safe for when the time comes to file your taxes. It is a good idea to consult with a financial expert in the event of a big win, as tax can depend a lot on your own circumstances.
