Florida
Date joined: February 17, 2017
The Sunshine State is a great place to play Cash for Life, as you don’t owe any state tax if you win one of the top prizes. It has also been home to numerous big payouts since tickets went on sale in 2017, and the game has helped the Florida Lottery to raise even more money for good causes. More than $1 billion goes towards supporting education in the state every year.

Georgia
Date joined: August 29, 2016
In Georgia, you can play Cash for Life online as well as at authorized retailers. Win a prize and you’ll also be able to stay anonymous. There are a wide range of other games to enjoy in the Peach State, including Cash 3, Cash 4, Cash Pop, Keno, Fantasy 5, Georgia Five, Powerball and Mega Millions. More than a quarter of the total revenue from ticket sales goes towards helping education in Georgia.

Indiana
Date joined: September 19, 2016
The Hoosier Lottery has been giving back to Indiana since its formation in 1989, benefiting a wide variety of causes such as police and firefighters’ pensions, the Teachers’ Retirement Fund and the Build Indiana Fund. Tickets from Cash for Life have boosted the coffers considerably since September 2016, and many Hoosiers have been able to celebrate great wins.

Maryland
Date joined: January 26, 2016
Maryland has created lots of big Cash for Life winners since it became the sixth participating state in January 2016. Unfortunately for these winners, Maryland has one of the highest rates of state tax in the U.S. at 8.75 percent. You have 182 days to claim any prizes you win in the Old Line State, and there are lots of Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) retailers where you can redeem winnings of more than $600.

Missouri
Date joined: April 11, 2021
Missouri is the newest state to the Cash for Life club, having previously offered Lucky for Life before April 2021. The big difference in Missouri to elsewhere is that you can add EZ Match to your play when you buy a ticket. This gives you another set of random numbers on your ticket, which can give you instant rewards of up to $500 if any of them match up to your Cash for Life numbers.

New Jersey
Date joined: June 13, 2014
The New Jersey Lottery has very much led the way in Cash for Life innovation. As well as being one of the two founding member states, its headquarters in Trenton is where drawings take place every night. New Jersey is also the only place where the Doubler feature is available – add this option and any non-lifetime prize will be multiplied by two. You can also stay anonymous if you win a major prize.

New York
Date joined: June 13, 2014
New York was the other original member of Cash for Life alongside New Jersey, and the Empire State has gone on to dominate the game with more big wins than anywhere else. Thousands of ticket holders from New York are paid out prizes in every draw. Anyone who wins more than $5,000 will be hit by more tax than players from other states, and there are even local withholdings in New York City and Yonkers.

Pennsylvania
Date joined: April 7, 2015
Pennsylvania became the first state to join founding members New York and New Jersey when tickets went on sale in the Keystone State in April 2015. You can play Cash for Life online in Pennsylvania, allowing you to set up a subscription so that you never miss a draw. Every time you play, you are also helping to generate money that benefits the state’s older residents.

Tennessee
Date joined: November 1, 2015
In Tennessee, you can play the instant-win game Quick Cash alongside the main Cash for Life draw, at a cost of $1 per play. This gives you the chance to win up to $500 if any of the Quick Cash numbers generated on your ticket are the same as your Cash for Life numbers. There’s no state tax on prizes if you win in the Volunteer State, and many Tennesseans have landed major payouts since November 2015.

Virginia
Date joined: May 3, 2015
The Virginia Lottery gives you a number of options when you play Cash for Life, such as a Future Play - where you can enter a specific draw in advance without having to play all the draws in between. You can even buy tickets online for added security and convenience. The game has made lots of big winners since May 2015 and helped to raise money for the state’s public education system.
