About Cash For Life in Missouri
The Missouri Lottery became the tenth state to join Cash for Life when it started selling tickets in April 2021, having previously offered Lucky for Life. It is the only state to have come on board since drawings went daily in 2019, and the game has proved to be immensely popular with Missourians. It works the same way as it does in the other participating states, but the twist is that you can add EZ Match.
How to play Cash For Life in Missouri
There’s just a few steps to play Cash for Life in Missouri. Select five numbers between 1 and 60, plus a Cash Ball from 1 to 4. Specify how many consecutive draws you want to play, up to a maximum of 14, and then decide whether to add EZ Match or not for an extra $1 (more details on EZ Match below). You have to purchase your tickets before 7:45 PM CT.
Claiming prizes in Missouri
You have 180 days to claim prizes in Missouri. Prizes up to $600 can be claimed from local retailers. Your options for bigger prizes include visiting a regional office in Springfield, St Louis, or Kansas City, or mailing in winning tickets to Ticket Redemption, Missouri Lottery, PO Box 7777, Jefferson City, MO 65102-7777. For one of the lifetime prizes, you’ll need to make an appointment to go to the MO Lottery HQ in Jefferson City.
Procedure for Lost and Damaged Tickets
The Missouri Lottery is not liable for lost, stolen or damaged tickets. You must have a winning ticket to be able to claim a prize, so make sure to keep it safe and sign the back of it. You may still be able to claim a prize with a ticket that is damaged, but only if it passes the MO Lottery’s verification requirements. You should allow for extra processing time if you are sending in a damaged ticket.
Taxes due on prizes in Missouri
The Missouri Lottery withholds 4 percent state tax on prizes of more than $600. Federal taxes are also applied at 24 percent on prizes of more than $5,000. As tax is such a complex issue, it is a good idea to speak to a financial expert. Depending on your personal income, you may owe additional taxes or may receive a refund.

If you select the EZ Match option when playing Cash for Life, it costs an extra $1 per play. It is an instant-win game where five random numbers are generated on the lower part of your ticket. Each one has a prize value assigned to it, ranging from $2 to $500. If any of these EZ Match numbers are the same as any of the Cash for Life numbers you have picked (the Cash Ball is not included), you win the prize that is shown.
